federal update

Alzheimers Association

The Alzheimer’s Association has just confirmed that Congress has included our requested $400 million Alzheimer’s research funding increase at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the FY2017 funding bill.

Upon approval, this will become the largest Alzheimer’s research funding increase in history and mark the fourth consecutive year Congress has acted on our call to increase research funding for the nation’s most expensive disease. All told, these increases will bring Alzheimer’s research funding by the federal government to nearly $1.4 billion per year, a threefold increase over the past five years!

Thank you for all you've done to bring about this monumental accomplishment. It would not have happened without your advocacy through the Alzheimer’s Association and our sister organization, the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM).

Please, send a thank you message to your members of Congress today!

We will keep you posted as this legislation advances through Congress and to the President’s desk. With your help, the Alzheimer's Association and our sister organization, the Alzheimer's Impact Movement, will continue to work tirelessly to bring us closer to a world without Alzheimer's.
